Girls Pesach Camp a Huge Success

For the first time ever, Kehillat Masada recently ran a 4 day camp for girls during the Pesach school holidays. Around 30-40 girls attended each day, ready to participate in an outstanding, fun and meaningful programme organised and run by our energetic and vibrant Israeli madrichot, Avital and Chaya.

The camp began with a sleep-over on the Masada campus. The girls spent the evening watching a movie and also took part in a talent competition judged by some Year 6 students. The madrichot were amazed at the talent and couldn’t believe that even without any preparation, the girls were so enthusiastic and performed so well. What an enjoyable evening and a fantastic way to kick-start the camp!

For the days that followed, different activities were planned to keep the girls busy and entertained from start to finish.

Day 1 included a visit to the zoo. The girls had an absolute blast together, enjoying not only the time at the zoo but also the time together to socialise, bond with each other and even form some new friendships.

Other outings included a trip to laser tag and to 10 pin bowling, both of which proved to be lots of fun!

The theme of one of the days was chessed and “giving back” to the community. This gave the girls a wonderful opportunity to spend time doing something for and connecting with others. The morning was spent baking some delicious cupcakes and the girls then took these cupcakes to an aged care home nearby. They spent some time chatting and socialising with the residents, bringing some joy and smiles to all those present.

A highlight of the camp was the Colour War and team-building challenge. The girls were split into different colour teams according to their year groups and had to compete in various challenges like sack races, water balloon throwing and tower building using balloons and tape. These activities encouraged the girls to work and problem-solve together, highlighting the importance of team work and cooperation. The team with the most points won the Colour War, but everyone who took part had loads of fun and spent the day laughing together and encouraging each other during the challenges.

Other activities included various arts and crafts, the highlight of which was the making of tie-dyed t-shirts which the girls couldn’t wait to wear!

After a very busy and exciting 4 days, the girls left the camp on a complete high, feeling exhilarated and excited. Old friendships were strengthened, new friendships were made and the bonding time was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Parents commented that their daughters had such a fantastic time and were already asking when the next camp would be! “A big shkoyach to all those involved in organising and running the camp so successfully…it was run extremely well and my daughter is still raving about it and can’t wait until the next one!...” – KM parent. Another parent commended all those involved, “…just fantastic that there is finally a holiday camp just for the girls…my child loved every minute and can’t wait for the next one…”

Well done and thanks to all those involved for ensuring that the camp ran so smoothly and that everyone had such a wonderful time!
